It’s the day before the dawn of a new year… If you haven’t done so already you may want to review how your last year unfolded. Did you achieve any of your new year’s resolutions or the goals you set? Are you happy with where you are and how you are progressing? Or are there any changes you want to make?
New Year’s Eve is such a special time of year. It’s a time where many people consciously choose to make the changes that they often don’t want to make during the year like giving up smoking or losing weight. I’m a great believer in starting the year in the best possible way. You should spend your night surrounded with friends and family. People whom value you, respect you, love and support you. Sometimes the way a new year starts can determine how your year unfolds. I have to say that last New Year’s Eve was possibly the worst I have ever had and 2011 turned out to be one of my most challenging years but I have come through those challenges a lot stronger and with a lot of growth and many learning’s.
I found this Aerosmith clip that really sums up a lot of the challenges I went through this year. I am posting it here because some of you may be like me and have had one of your most challenging years. The aim of this video is to give you hope that everything is going to be alright!
If your New Year’s Eve wasn’t what you wanted it to be last year then do something different. Life is a journey not a destination and for that fact make sure that you start the year with your best foot forward. That’s what I am going to do. Also as the day draws closer have a think about any changes you want to make going into 2012. Think about the goals you have achieved this year and those that you want to set for next year to make sure 2012 is your best it can be.
In order to help you have the best start to 2012 I have put together the top ten steps you need to follow in order to successfully set your goals and transform them into reality. I’ve made it as easy as possible for you to follow these ten steps.
Step 1 - Write down your goals. These should be things you want to do, be and have. Make sure you think big!
Step 2 - Start writing a brief positive sentence of why you want to be, do or have each of these goals.
Step 3 - Decide the most important areas of your life and list them.
Step 4 - Take each of your goals in turn and ask yourself the following: “Will having, being or doing this thing improve areas of my life that I deem are important?”
Step 5 - For each goal ask yourself “Will it take you closer to your overall objective?”
Step 6 - Put your goals in order of importance. Then divide your Top 10 goals into 4 types:
Step 7 - For each goal expand your “WHY”
Step 8 - For each goal create a “To do list”
Step 9 - Make a list of
Step10 – Take the rocking chair test – Close your eyes, wander out into the future until you are aged 95. Sitting gently rocking backwards and forwards go over your life. Imagine a wonderful life you have created and designed for yourself. Visualise it and fully associate with it. Write down the story of your incredible life, the amazing things you have done, the fantastic things you have seen, the people you have touched and the changes you have made in your own life.
By following these 10 steps you will be guaranteed to successfully set your goals and turn them into a reality. If you are in any doubt as to why you wouldn’t to set your goals then watch this clip from Tony Robbins on how to create an extraordinary life. He only gives 3 steps but if you combine them with the steps outlined here I guarantee you 2012 will be an outstanding year for you.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year and May the best of your todays be the worst of your tomorrows
As we move towards a new year I thought that something I would address is an area that many people are challenged with in their business and personal life. It doesn’t matter if you run your own business or work for someone else. You can be the most confident person in the world and still be unable to banish limiting beliefs. It doesn’t matter who you are, at some point all of us have had a negative thought or limiting belief including Tony Robbins and the most positive person on the planet.
For those of you that know me you will know that I am typically a very positive person but I have to admit that there were several points this year where I had been particularly challenged and due to my health had several limiting beliefs and thoughts that were not of my usual positive nature. Leaving full time employment to turn my Passion Into Profit definitely does flag up a few limiting beliefs too!
Now as a trained master practioner in NLP and a coach I have access to tools and resources that help me banish these limiting beliefs when they occur. I wanted to share some of these techniques with you so that you have access to some powerful tools that you can use whenever you feel a limiting belief or negative thought coming up and banish it in an instant.
Limiting beliefs can be grouped into three main categories. Often by knowing the type of limiting belief it can be easier to remove it. They are as follows:
Before I provide some of the techniques on how you can banish limiting beliefs I wanted to put some context around this by sharing a video with you that will help you unlock your potential and show you that what you think about you bring about so it is critical that you find some tools that help you in banishing your limiting beliefs. Watch the clip below and then read on to find out some tools that you can use to banish limiting beliefs.
The first technique I will share with you is a simple one. The fastest way to banish a limiting belief is to look for evidence that disproves it. If you think you cannot do something try doing it. Once a belief has been proven wrong it looses its power. You can also ask yourself a range of thought-provoking questions such as “How does holding this belief serve my best interest?” or “if you had all the resources in the world, what evidence would you need to overcome this limiting belief?” Asking yourself questions from a resourceful place might remove the mind barriers or blocks you are experiencing at that time.
One technique that you may find particularly helpful when you feel a limiting belief coming up is to think about ‘Your resourceful self’ and look at the limiting belief from your stronger self’s point of view. Then get three or four pieces of A4 paper and in big letters write down what your strengths are (one strength on each piece of paper). Place the pieces of paper beside you and stand in the middle, with the pieces of paper on the floor around you. Then ask yourself how you can use the chosen strengths, one at a time, to assist in banishing your limiting belief. Focus on what strengths you can use to work through the situation and look for ways of how you can personally contribute positively.
There are often many times in our lives when we are constantly challenged, it doesn’t matter how much personal development you do, how aligned you are or how spiritual. I have to say that for me personally my 36th year has been a year which has had me constantly challenged and pushed me out of my comfort zone for pretty much most of it and in almost every area of my life too. When I turned 37 a few weeks ago I can say with all honesty that I was ready to fully embrace a new year and I would make this year very different from my last.
As we get closer to a new year I wanted to get you thinking about your life, your objectives for the year and what you want from 2012. What needs to happen for you to start living life rather than existing in it? What does that life look like to you? What does it feel like? How will you know when you have it? What does success mean to you? Take a few moments to answer the following questions. You can do this exercise for any area of your life, be that business or personal. You can even apply it to your relationships with friends. If you’re like me you may want to spend some extra time and do this exercise for all areas of your life.
How did you find the exercise? Did you have any surprising results? Feel free to leave a comment if you have anything you want to share.
This year has been a very big year of challenge and change. I have leant many valuable lessons for which I am very grateful and also I have completely broken out of my comfort zone and moved up a couple of rung’s on the ladder of life. I have finally moved into the public speaking space. For any of you that want to see me in action then come join me at Wealth Wizards a one day investment workshop, it’s on the 12th November.
I would like to leave you with a song by Cheryl Cole which will hopefully inspire you. No matter how challenging life can become know that the reason for this is because there is a lesson for you to learn or growth needs to ocur. Enjoy the song…. Peace out
What an amazing month September turned out to be! As many of you will know on the 10th of September I ran a Wealth Creation event called Infinitively Wealthy Women with my joint venture partner Lavinia Osbourne of Butterfly Wealth Creation. There were many women who invested in their financial and personal development by attending the event so I wanted to say a big thank you to them for doing so. The event meant a great deal to me as it was another goal that I accomplished and it moved me to a whole new playing field…. That of a public speaker…
Becoming a public speaker was something I had day dreamed of often. I would imagine myself being on stage like my mentors Anthony Robbins or Joanna Martin. But it was something that scared the life out of me too. Up until recently I’d always had an issue with public speaking. When I gave presentations in the past I often felt my delivery was always me minus my personality and it was something that I desperately wanted to change. If you are like me and know this feeling well you will be delighted to learn how I over came that problem and how you can too.
I’m not sure if you’ve heard of Dr Joanna Martin, she has been one of my mentors for the last few years. She left her career as a doctor to focus on coaching people around how to make an effective presentation and profit from your passion as a speaker. It has made her one of the highest paid, OUTRAGEOUSLY successful and well-loved speakers today. So when I was looking at how to overcome my fear of speaking and learn how to “be me” on stage I knew I needed Joanna Martin’s help!
I have to say that when I attended the Shift Speaker Training course I really didn’t know what to expect or if it would even work. I spent 3 long days feeling out of my comfort zone for a majority of that time. In fact half way through the last day I still wasn’t convinced if I was able to be me as a speaker because I wasn’t “being me” in the exercises up until then. In the Q&A I put my hand up to ask Joanna what I could do to “be me” on stage because I wasn’t sure I was getting it.
Joanna Martin pulled me up on stage and went through a closed eye process with me. She stated by asking me what my chosen word was that I wanted everyone in my audience to walk away with after hearing me speak. My word was power but I later discovered I had picked the wrong word and it should have been passion! She continued by talking directly to my unconscious, telling me that everyone was here to see me speak and that they wanted to hear the message I had to give to the world and a whole lot more. It was an electric experience and one that all my classmates at Shift Speaker Training shared. I left the training not sure if it had made a difference but I was desperately hoping it had.
A few months later, when I spoke at the Infinitely Wealthy Women’s workshop something quite magical happened. I got up on stage and for the first time I was me. I had no nerves and instead the fear that would usually be present was replaced by adrenalin. I had outstanding feedback from the audience saying that I was an inspirational speaker after only just 3 minutes on stage….
Here is a short clip of me in action courtesy of my friend Jo Webber
As a consequence of my training and the event I have positioned myself as a public speaker and I have subsequently been asked to speak at The Wealth Wizards Event on 12th November 2011. I can’t thank Joanna Martin enough for helping me release my barriers and blocks preventing me from being myself on stage.
Whether you’ve just thought about speaking, just started or are already an experienced speaker the Shift Speaker Training fills in the gaps on what other presentation training seminars leave out…. You can catch Joanna Martin speaking at the Millionaire Bootcamp on the 28th to the 30th October. It’s 3 days wealth training with some of the world’s top ‘welfare to millionaire’ entrepreneurs. I am certain this is a life-changing weekend!
The last bank holiday of the year is now over and September is nearly here, which means the super exciting and informative ‘Infinitely Wealthy Women’ workshop on Wealth Creation and Preservation on September 10th is almost upon us! In the run up to the event I wanted to take some time to talk to you about one of the inspirational speakers that will be at the event and share some information on what she will be uncovering at the workshop.
Ayshe Kadir is self-made millionaire, who has never been employed! She had 3 businesses before the age of 30 and has spent the last 26 years helping people achieve wealth and business success. Ayshe currently runs Workshops in the UK and the USA, where shares her knowledge about Investing in the States and Tax Leins. She claims that in her training you will learn a fascinating new method for creating wealth which is so simple it will shock you. I am excited to have Ayshe as a speaker and in finding out more about Tax Leins. It wasn’t something I had ever heard of until I had met Ayshe. This is mainly because there are very few people in the UK that actually know about them. As I am a keen investor I was intrigued to find out more about them.
So what are Tax Leins? They are a government-guaranteed investment that can provide high returns which range from 8% to 50%. To understand what Tax Leins are we first must set a frame of reference in terms of what it is equivalent to in the UK. In the UK we are all bound by law to pay council tax. This is so that the government can generate revenue to pay for community services like police, schools, cleaning the streets, NHS, etc. If you do not pay your council tax then the local authority will begin legal proceedings against you. In the US they have something similar but instead of the tax being imposed on an individual it is imposed on the property instead and not on the property owner as in the UK. When a homeowner in the US fails to pay their property tax, the county places a legal charge against the property called a Tax Lien. This prevents the homeowner from selling the property and refinancing the property until the taxes are paid. The county then sell these Tax Liens to investors who hold the lein certificate until the homeowner repays their debt. Investing in Tax Leins has risen in popularity over the years as it is a relatively risk free investment where the county guarantees to pay you the penalty interest on the certificate.
It certainly has a better return on investment than leaving your money in the bank or taking out an ISA… As Tax Leins are such a new concept to investors in the UK I thought it’s well worth a closer look and as such i will be doing a live interview with Ayshe at 8.30pm GMT on the 30th of August. Join us for this ‘one off ‘ live interview with US property expert Ayshe Kadir! Get ready to learn her secrets to wealth creation!
