Did you achieve any of your new year’s resolutions or the goals you set? Are you happy with where you are and how you are progressing? Or are there any changes you want to make?

New Year’s Eve is such a special time of year. It’s a time where many people consciously choose to make the changes that they often don’t want to make during the year like giving up smoking or losing weight. I’m a great believer in starting the year in the best possible way. You should spend your night surrounded with friends and family. People whom value you, respect you, love and support you. Sometimes the way a new year starts can determine how your year unfolds. I have to say that last New Year’s Eve was possibly the worst I have ever had and 2011 turned out to be one of my most challenging years but I have come through those challenges a lot stronger and with a lot of growth and many learning’s.

I found this Aerosmith clip that really sums up a lot of the challenges I went through this year. I am posting it here because some of you may be like me and have had one of your most challenging years. The aim of this video is to give you hope that everything is going to be alright!

If your New Year’s Eve wasn’t what you wanted it to be last year then do something different. Life is a journey not a destination and for that fact make sure that you start the year with your best foot forward. That’s what I am going to do. Also as the day draws closer have a think about any changes you want to make going into 2012. Think about the goals you have achieved this year and those that you want to set for next year to make sure 2012 is your best it can be.

In order to help you have the best start to 2012 I have put together the top ten steps you need to follow in order to successfully set your goals and transform them into reality. I’ve made it as easy as possible for you to follow these ten steps.

Step 1 - Write down your goals. These should be things you want to do, be and have. Make sure you think big!
Step 2 - Start writing a brief positive sentence of why you want to be, do or have each of these goals.
Step 3 - Decide the most important areas of your life and list them.
Step 4 - Take each of your goals in turn and ask yourself the following: “Will having, being or doing this thing improve areas of my life that I deem are important?”
Step 5 - For each goal ask yourself “Will it take you closer to your overall objective?”
Step 6 - Put your goals in order of importance. Then divide your Top 10 goals into 4 types:

Ongoing goals

Short term goals

Medium term goals

Long term goals

Step 7 - For each goal expand your “WHY”
Step 8 - For each goal create a “To do list”
Step 9 - Make a list of

People you need to work with to achieve your goal

Skills you might need to develop to achieve your goal

Actions you need to take to achieve your goal

Step10 – Take the rocking chair test – Close your eyes, wander out into the future until you are aged 95. Sitting gently rocking backwards and forwards go over your life. Imagine a wonderful life you have created and designed for yourself. Visualise it and fully associate with it. Write down the story of your incredible life, the amazing things you have done, the fantastic things you have seen, the people you have touched and the changes you have made in your own life.

By following these 10 steps you will be guaranteed to successfully set your goals and turn them into a reality. If you are in any doubt as to why you wouldn’t to set your goals then watch this clip from Tony Robbins on how to create an extraordinary life. He only gives 3 steps but if you combine them with the steps outlined here I guarantee you 2012 will be an outstanding year for you.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year and May the best of your todays be the worst of your tomorrows

It doesn’t matter if you run your own business or work for someone else. You can be the most confident person in the world and still be unable to banish limiting beliefs. It doesn’t matter who you are, at some point all of us have had a negative thought or limiting belief including Tony Robbins and the most positive person on the planet.

For those of you that know me you will know that I am typically a very positive person but I have to admit that there were several points this year where I had been particularly challenged and due to my health had several limiting beliefs and thoughts that were not of my usual positive nature. Leaving full time employment to turn my Passion Into Profit definitely does flag up a few limiting beliefs too!

Now as a trained master practioner in NLP and a coach I have access to tools and resources that help me banish these limiting beliefs when they occur. I wanted to share some of these techniques with you so that you have access to some powerful tools that you can use whenever you feel a limiting belief or negative thought coming up and banish it in an instant.

Limiting beliefs can be grouped into three main categories. Often by knowing the type of limiting belief it can be easier to remove it. They are as follows:

Hopelessness: You feel that your goal cannot be achieved under any circumstance

Helplessness: you feel that your goal can be achieved, but that you lack the ability to achieve it

Worthlessness: You feel that you don’t deserve to achieve this goal, because of something that you are/are not or have/have not done.

Before I provide some of the techniques on how you can banish limiting beliefs I wanted to put some context around this by sharing a video with you that will help you unlock your potential and show you that what you think about you bring about so it is critical that you find some tools that help you in banishing your limiting beliefs. Watch the clip below and then read on to find out some tools that you can use to banish limiting beliefs.

The first technique I will share with you is a simple one. The fastest way to banish a limiting belief is to look for evidence that disproves it. If you think you cannot do something try doing it. Once a belief has been proven wrong it looses its power. You can also ask yourself a range of thought-provoking questions such as “How does holding this belief serve my best interest?” or “if you had all the resources in the world, what evidence would you need to overcome this limiting belief?” Asking yourself questions from a resourceful place might remove the mind barriers or blocks you are experiencing at that time.

One technique that you may find particularly helpful when you feel a limiting belief coming up is to think about ‘Your resourceful self’ and look at the limiting belief from your stronger self’s point of view. Then get three or four pieces of A4 paper and in big letters write down what your strengths are (one strength on each piece of paper). Place the pieces of paper beside you and stand in the middle, with the pieces of paper on the floor around you. Then ask yourself how you can use the chosen strengths, one at a time, to assist in banishing your limiting belief. Focus on what strengths you can use to work through the situation and look for ways of how you can personally contribute positively.

I have to say that for me personally my 36th year has been a year which has had me constantly challenged and pushed me out of my comfort zone for pretty much most of it and in almost every area of my life too. When I turned 37 a few weeks ago I can say with all honesty that I was ready to fully embrace a new year and I would make this year very different from my last.

As we get closer to a new year I wanted to get you thinking about your life, your objectives for the year and what you want from 2012. What needs to happen for you to start living life rather than existing in it? What does that life look like to you? What does it feel like? How will you know when you have it? What does success mean to you? Take a few moments to answer the following questions. You can do this exercise for any area of your life, be that business or personal. You can even apply it to your relationships with friends. If you’re like me you may want to spend some extra time and do this exercise for all areas of your life.

List the things your grateful for

Love what you have – take 5 minutes to reflect and write

What is currently missing?

What can you tweak to make a difference

Who is currently achieving the results you want to achieve

What are they doing differently to you?

What strategy can you adopt?

How did you find the exercise? Did you have any surprising results? Feel free to leave a comment if you have anything you want to share.

This year has been a very big year of challenge and change. I have leant many valuable lessons for which I am very grateful and also I have completely broken out of my comfort zone and moved up a couple of rung’s on the ladder of life. I have finally moved into the public speaking space. For any of you that want to see me in action then come join me at Wealth Wizards a one day investment workshop, it’s on the 12th November.

I would like to leave you with a song by Cheryl Cole which will hopefully inspire you. No matter how challenging life can become know that the reason for this is because there is a lesson for you to learn or growth needs to ocur. Enjoy the song…. Peace out

As many of you will know on the 10th of September I ran a Wealth Creation event called Infinitively Wealthy Women with my joint venture partner Lavinia Osbourne of Butterfly Wealth Creation. There were many women who invested in their financial and personal development by attending the event so I wanted to say a big thank you to them for doing so. The event meant a great deal to me as it was another goal that I accomplished and it moved me to a whole new playing field…. That of a public speaker…

Becoming a public speaker was something I had day dreamed of often. I would imagine myself being on stage like my mentors Anthony Robbins or Joanna Martin. But it was something that scared the life out of me too. Up until recently I’d always had an issue with public speaking. When I gave presentations in the past I often felt my delivery was always me minus my personality and it was something that I desperately wanted to change. If you are like me and know this feeling well you will be delighted to learn how I over came that problem and how you can too.

I’m not sure if you’ve heard of Dr Joanna Martin, she has been one of my mentors for the last few years. She left her career as a doctor to focus on coaching people around how to make an effective presentation and profit from your passion as a speaker. It has made her one of the highest paid, OUTRAGEOUSLY successful and well-loved speakers today. So when I was looking at how to overcome my fear of speaking and learn how to “be me” on stage I knew I needed Joanna Martin’s help!

I have to say that when I attended the Shift Speaker Training course I really didn’t know what to expect or if it would even work. I spent 3 long days feeling out of my comfort zone for a majority of that time. In fact half way through the last day I still wasn’t convinced if I was able to be me as a speaker because I wasn’t “being me” in the exercises up until then. In the Q&A I put my hand up to ask Joanna what I could do to “be me” on stage because I wasn’t sure I was getting it.

Joanna Martin pulled me up on stage and went through a closed eye process with me. She stated by asking me what my chosen word was that I wanted everyone in my audience to walk away with after hearing me speak. My word was power but I later discovered I had picked the wrong word and it should have been passion! She continued by talking directly to my unconscious, telling me that everyone was here to see me speak and that they wanted to hear the message I had to give to the world and a whole lot more. It was an electric experience and one that all my classmates at Shift Speaker Training shared. I left the training not sure if it had made a difference but I was desperately hoping it had.

A few months later, when I spoke at the Infinitely Wealthy Women’s workshop something quite magical happened. I got up on stage and for the first time I was me. I had no nerves and instead the fear that would usually be present was replaced by adrenalin. I had outstanding feedback from the audience saying that I was an inspirational speaker after only just 3 minutes on stage….

Here is a short clip of me in action courtesy of my friend Jo Webber

As a consequence of my training and the event I have positioned myself as a public speaker and I have subsequently been asked to speak at The Wealth Wizards Event on 12th November 2011. I can’t thank Joanna Martin enough for helping me release my barriers and blocks preventing me from being myself on stage.

Whether you’ve just thought about speaking, just started or are already an experienced speaker the Shift Speaker Training fills in the gaps on what other presentation training seminars leave out…. You can catch Joanna Martin speaking at the Millionaire Bootcamp on the 28th to the 30th October. It’s 3 days wealth training with some of the world’s top ‘welfare to millionaire’ entrepreneurs. I am certain this is a life-changing weekend!

Ayshe Kadir is self-made millionaire, who has never been employed! She had 3 businesses before the age of 30 and has spent the last 26 years helping people achieve wealth and business success. Ayshe currently runs Workshops in the UK and the USA, where shares her knowledge about Investing in the States and Tax Leins. She claims that in her training you will learn a fascinating new method for creating wealth which is so simple it will shock you. I am excited to have Ayshe as a speaker and in finding out more about Tax Leins. It wasn’t something I had ever heard of until I had met Ayshe. This is mainly because there are very few people in the UK that actually know about them. As I am a keen investor I was intrigued to find out more about them.

So what are Tax Leins? They are a government-guaranteed investment that can provide high returns which range from 8% to 50%. To understand what Tax Leins are we first must set a frame of reference in terms of what it is equivalent to in the UK. In the UK we are all bound by law to pay council tax. This is so that the government can generate revenue to pay for community services like police, schools, cleaning the streets, NHS, etc. If you do not pay your council tax then the local authority will begin legal proceedings against you. In the US they have something similar but instead of the tax being imposed on an individual it is imposed on the property instead and not on the property owner as in the UK. When a homeowner in the US fails to pay their property tax, the county places a legal charge against the property called a Tax Lien. This prevents the homeowner from selling the property and refinancing the property until the taxes are paid. The county then sell these Tax Liens to investors who hold the lein certificate until the homeowner repays their debt. Investing in Tax Leins has risen in popularity over the years as it is a relatively risk free investment where the county guarantees to pay you the penalty interest on the certificate.

It certainly has a better return on investment than leaving your money in the bank or taking out an ISA… As Tax Leins are such a new concept to investors in the UK I thought it’s well worth a closer look and as such i will be doing a live interview with Ayshe at 8.30pm GMT on the 30th of August. Join us for this ‘one off ‘ live interview with US property expert Ayshe Kadir! Get ready to learn her secrets to wealth creation!

At the Infinitely Wealthy Women’s Wealth Creation Workshop Lavinia Osbourne and my good self will be sharing with you some of our secret wealth creation strategies along with four other speakers.

As a precursor to the event I wanted to share with you in this blog today that is about Being Wealthy. Lot’s of people have many preconceptions around being wealthy and about people that are wealthy. Many people don’t create or manifest the wealth they want or desire because they don’t decide that you want to be wealthy. You need to make the decision that this is what you want and then go about making that happen. If you don’t make that decision then what happens is your unconscious mind won’t focus on how to make that happen.

What you think about you bring about and so if you focus on debt that’s just what you will attract. But if instead you focus on what you want… An abundant amount of wealth then that is what you will attract. So instead of focusing on debt close your eyes each morning and night before you sleep visualise the life you want for yourself. It’s not about luck or being in the right place at the right time. It’s about looking for strategies that work and programming your unconscious mind to spot opportunities in your environment that are resources to make it happen.

Check out this video I created for the Infinitely Wealthy Women’s Wealth Creation Workshop

Becoming wealthy involves a little more than just visualisation. It takes action and a few other steps to make it happen. What you also want to do is begin to study how to become wealthy. Read books, go to seminars, look for mentors or people that have achieved the results that you desire. Look at ways on how to develop your finances or how to leverage your resources. There are a ton of strategies out there, lots of valuable resources and talent mentors that will show you how to achieve this.

Perhaps the most important thing to remember from all of these tips here is actually just to find someone that’s done it before. Find people that are rich get into their sphere of influence, go to their seminars, hang out where they hang out once in a while and get around those people because you are going to learn how to think like them. They can show you and teach you how to be wealthy. One of the main reasons that Infinitely Wealthy Women was created was so that you would be able to find all the resources and tools you need in order for you to create and preserve your own WEALTH!

Make sure you attend Infinitely Wealthy Women on September 10th 2011 you won’t regret it. Register now before it’s too late

What you expected? Has it been better than last year, worse, or have you been indifferent to how your year has passed? Have you made any changes to the way you live life? Set any goals and reached them or have you lacked to plan the direction you want your life to move in? Or did the universe get in the way of your plans?

If you’re like me then the latter is what 2011 has been all about. It’s been a tough year for me in many ways. I have spent most of this year with some pretty serious health issues which forced me to make a lot of changes in my life. A curve ball like health isn’t something you plan for it’s something that you have to deal with once it comes along and bites you on the butt! My health got so bad at one point that it actually forced me to stop everything I was doing. For those of you that know me you will understand that just doing nothing for me would be a huge challenge. After all I am the type of person you bounce off the walls, little miss energiser bunny, who use to live life on passion and adrenalin alone!

I have always said that no matter what happens in life good or bad everything happens for a reason even if you may not see it at that time. There is always some kind of learning to grasp or a growth that needs to occur. This time is no different and as I start to come through the other side of my health issues I can honestly tell you it’s with all the learning’s I have picked up along the way.

I wanted to share a video with you that summarises many of the lessons I’ve learnt, realisations that have occurred to me and something that gave me strength whenever I felt weak or questioned what was happening in my world.

I share this with you in the hope that if you sometimes lose hope or faith that you can realise that everything happens with a divine purpose. Don’t give up if at first you don’t succeed as the next thing you do may be the difference that makes the difference. Stay strong and resolution on your path and in your journey as the good thing about bad things happening is that they make way for even better things to happen.

They reach a point where they have experienced enough pain to realise that they now need to commit to making the necessary changes in order to achieve what they seek.

The reason many people don’t stretch to reach their dreams is because they have many limiting beliefs, barriers and blocks holding them back. They walk around telling themselves they “can’t have it” or “can’t do it”. This often has a direct impact on their ability to stay focused and remain positive, especially if they have negative people surrounding them or reinforcing the “can’t have it” or “can’t do it”.

Basically it’s a gathering where a group of coaches get together every month to discuss hot topics, trends, etc in the coaching field. It was a group I had been intending on going to for some time but I never seemed to get round to going. Health issues and other obstacles kept getting in my way of attending. I’m sure that will resonate with some of you.

Well this time I found the time, there was a good reason for me attending and little did I know what an impact this session would have. The main reason for me going was to support a new addition to the Passion Meets Profit Coaching team. Her name is Cheryl King and she focuses on Career Coaching. She was going to deliver a session on Networking so I thought I would go along, check out the coaching circle, see her in action and give her some support at the same time.

Now I have to admit I have never been someone that shied away from networking. It was an integral part of my role at JPMorgan and it’s even more vital in my career now as an entrepreneur and multi business owner. I have to admit that I found out some very useful information about networking, some of the information covered I knew and there were a few things I didn’t know and I even revealed a few of my own little secret tips for networking.

Cheryl did an outstanding job at covering the networking topic and provided a comprehensive list of events. One of the events mentioned was Ladies who Latte. As soon as she mentioned it I knew I had heard the name before. I was racking my brain as to where I had heard it. The penny finally dropped and in an instant I remembered where I had heard it and by whom. It was my good friend and business associate Lavinia Osbourne of Butterfly Wealth Creation, who is currently following and marketing a massive Coffee trend, which has become all the rage, Healthy Gourmet coffee. So no surprise that it was her who first told me about Ladies who Latte.

As soon as Cheryl begun to talk about how innovative this new female business networking event was and that there were lots of Ladies who Latte starting to crop up all over London I knew I had to get involved. I was instantly inspired to set up and lead a Ladies who Latte in Primrose Hill. As soon as I left the coaching circle I called Lavinia to find out more. It turned out she was launching a Ladies who Latte in Crystal Palace. She had told me about Sharon Connolly and Mary Flavelle who are the co-founders of Ladies who Latte and how they got started. It sounded like an opportunity I could not miss (click here to read their story) and so Lavinia and I teamed up to bring Ladies who Latte to Primrose Hill. We set the wheels in motion by enlisting the help of Social Markets SA, to help get a website up, design and create the flyer and generally assist us in ensuring Ladies who Latte in Primrose Hill gets the launch it deserves.

Check out our promo video for the event below. Lavinia and I are so excited. We have had a great response and it’s also looking very likely that we will even have the local press cover our launch.

It’s an area that a few of the Passion Meets Profit followers are challenged with and requested some help with so I wanted to address this by writing a blog on it and also by dedicating the next Be Empowered online coaching session to it. It’s a topic close to my heart as it’s an area I struggled with myself when I was younger.

Not loving yourself or having low self-confidence can influence so many aspects of your life. It can affect the way you see yourself, the way you behave with others and it can even affect your performance. Many people that struggled with having self confidence often think that having it is something that only the gifted and blessed have. This simply is not true. I know this because when I was younger I didn’t have any. There were times when I couldn’t even bare to look at myself in the mirror let alone think that I was worthy or that anyone else would love me. Oh how times have changed. For me the first step towards making positive change to the negative internal thought process I ran began with simply looking in the mirror and telling myself I wasn’t that bad. Slowly, over time, my “looking in the mirror” message got more positive in nature and so did my feelings towards myself.

Passion Meets Profit wants to provide you with the resources for you to be able to start building on your self-confidence. So on the 27th April 2011 at 19.30 (BST) join Elaine Gleeson for an online session in Learning to Love Yourself. In this session you will learn about loving yourself and accepting yourself for who you are. You need to acknowledge who you are and learn to love yourself for your weaknesses and at the same time strengthen them too. Let us teach you the art of Personal mastery by showing you how to love yourself. Take a look at this youtube clip for some tips on learning to love yourself.

In order to attain confidence you first must get comfortable with the skin you are in. That means learning how to believe in yourself and to become content with who you are as a person and what you are about. Once you develop self- confidence then self-acceptance should follow. Often people are too hard on themselves and fail to see what they have to offer to others.

Building self-confidence can’t be achieved overnight and personal development can be a never-ending process but with the right tools you can get there at a much faster pace and in a more effective manner. Sign up to attend the Learn to Love Yourself free online Be Empowered coaching session.
